There's been a bit of drizzle about this morning in the village and light snow on the peaks. It's currently -0.8 degress at the top of the Quad Express, slightly warmer in the Valley and a light to moderate wind from the west. The BOM is expecting more snow above 1700m which is good news as the village in Perisher Valley sits at 1720m. 47 lifts will be in operation across the four resort areas. The cover will be mostly firm up higher; softening as you reach the lower elevations, on a very good base across all four resort areas. Get warmed up on the groomed runs first up; they will be the go early. Make your way to the many and varied off-piste trails for a test of your skills. Exhibition will be in mint condition for advanced riders today, as will Hypertrail for the intermediates. Advancing beginners and intermediate skiers and boarders will find Blanchy's a good choice for a carve, whilst first timers are sure to enjoy the very gentle slopes of J-Bar land. Both Upper Roller Coaster and Zali's we're told have been expertly manicured and are ready for plenty of edge work from intermediate and advanced snow revellers. If you're in for some true groomer's picks, then Woodpecker and Schnaxl both rate highly today for intermediates looking for sweet early corduroy. Australia's only Superpipe also opens today!
